I am still into challenges, because they are so much fun. Also February is so close and I feel like making red, love-related cards… This one applies for CAS(E) #107 Challenge.
This is the provided sketch:
I decided to go for red and white colours, to make the card look as simple as possible and yet Valentine-ish.
I made a 3D heart manually cutting out hearts and arranging them on the lower part. Then I stamped the sentiment in VersaColor Ink 23 Rose Red.
I also put several red gems to add some shimmer and details to this card.
Thank you for reading! Have a good day.
Apart from creating challenge cards, I’ve been trying out various techniques. The one I’ve wanted to try for a long time is the one that Kristina Werner used. You can find the original card here. I love the way she blends colours and adds those droplets to finish the look.
I used Distress Ink Salty Ocean and Memento DewDrop Rose Bud inks to create the background. Memento is not as perfect as Distress Ink to work as watercolour and you have to be fast, but it’s still nice and adds some soft colour with water.
To create the sentiment I used Simon Says Stamp What’s Brewing Clear Stamps Set and also had to cut out a little heart from Dovecraft Curiosity Corner Stamps Set. Worked pretty good together! The ink to stamp them is VersaFine Onyx Black.
I also added some mocha coloured sequins, but I wish I had pink or blue ones. One day, one day…
I hope you enjoyed reading it. Have a good day and thanks!
St. Valentines Day is just round the corner and soon to cheer us with hearts, love and happiness. On this occasion Simon Says Stamp runs a challenge! I am more than glad to participate!
I have also decided to try and take part in a New To You challenge.
The new thing I used in this card is vellum. I had a sheet of vellum like forever, but I had no idea how to use it best. Since I’m very much into watercolouring and stamping recently, I decided to use some vellum along with my watercolour pencils. And this is what came out as the result!
This vellum is pretty thick, but it’s very very shiny.
The teddie stamp comes from Fizzy Moon TrimCraft. I used VersaFine Onyx Black Ink to stamp it on some vellum.
The pattern paper for the background is from My Mind’s Eye Cupid’s Arrow 6″ x 6″ pad.
I also used Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add some more shimmer to the heart the teddie is holding.
The sentiment comes from Studio G Clear Stamps Set.
Thanks for taking a look and reading through the post! Have a good day.
